AuthorWhile I cannot speak for everyone that happened upon the giant bubble gum machine in the sky that stuck out like a… well like a… well like a giant bubble gum machine in the sky, I can speak for the attendees that I did get the chance to talk to.

To summarize, let’s just say that if they did not believe the pre-show marketing blasts, or were on the “bubble” as to the validity of those announcements, they partook in the Kool-Aid, so to speak, saw the light and truly left as believers in what 4K Print Technology could achieve.

Optima Won’t Sell To You – Not Now, Not Ever

Right before my presentation began an individual stood up and addressed the crowd by saying “I am sorry but I have to tell you that Optima won’t ever sell to you”. My Dirty Little Secret

My official title is now Sales Enablement Manager. Yup that’s me, numero uno, the main man, top dog, BMOC, Head Chief. What’s that you say? What exactly is a Sales Enablement Manager? We are all familiar with George Carlin’s routine the 7 words you cannot say on television, circa 1972, in which he expounds on exactly that. Seven infamous words that were too taboo for television viewing back in the early 70’s. Well, I had a situation that I would like to share with you that is in the same vein. I was recently involved in a sales presentation to an established customer when out of her mouth spewed the vilest of all accumulation of words, hereafter referred to as the 7 words that this salesperson did not want to hear. What made matters worse was the fact that my Sales Manager conveniently decided to evaluate my presentation skills and join me on the call.

Dave Brown was one of the first Optima customers I ever met and once he joined the Optima Team we quickly became good friends.

Although we are very different in many ways, (for example; I don’t swim with sharks or across English Channels) we share much in common from family, raising kids, the good Ol’Grateful Dead, making things blue, learning how to decipher Jim Hoffmann’s handwriting and much, much, more.

Probably the one thing we’ve see eye-to-eye on for over 20 plus years is the concept of Customer Centricity, both as a consumer and serving our clients. No question, Dave’s always had my back and the backs of all our customers!
