Commitment & Support

AuthorDue to current events in our country and around the world, I have often caught myself thinking “What is this world coming to?”

I’m sure there are many of you who feel the same . . . am I right???   What I want to bring full circle is our very impressive trade show family, where we understand what needs to be done in order for the show to go on and sometimes for life to go on as well.

I was reminded of this yet again at this year’s 22nd Annual Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic held in Atlanta last Friday.  Within our industry family, we all tap into our vast network of experts and we perform trade show and event miracles every day. We help each other get through stressful times, whether it’s on the tradeshow floor or in life.  There’s no doubt that there is no such thing as a perfect show, event, or a perfect world. We’ll always be up against obstacles…it’s how we handle and/or recover from the obstacle in front of us, knowing that sometimes this means we need the help of others.

What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitude toward it. Every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunity.

~ J. Sidlow Baxter

Thank you to the Board of Directors,  all of the volunteers, sponsors, and golfers. You proved, without a doubt, there is still good in this world. Excellent job!

If you’re not familiar with this great industry charity event, you really should be. “The objective of the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic is to help families in the exhibition industry who have suffered severe tragedies or face insurmountable medical expenses. Our commitment is to provide financial and emotional support to all past and present recipients and their families.”

It’s definitely felt like a family when it’s needed to most. And from conversations outside the industry, it’s not everywhere. We are fortunate indeed!
