Not Just Trade Shows

AuthorKudos to Gina Porcaro…for the blog she posted last week. I know for a fact some members of our sales group have pasted that one into their notebooks for future reference.

Among her excellent observations, one in particular struck me: it was about diversity in business and she made the comment that 10+ years ago, an exhibit company could be successful focusing exclusively on trade show business. An irony of that talking point is that when I began my tenure with Optima six years ago, I was tasked with strategically targeting customers who were not traditional “Trade Show” companies. However, over the course of the last six years,  it’s become kind of a moot point as Events, Interiors and Displays are prominent in the portfolios of most of Optima’s longtime partners. Here are some examples:

This first one is from Walker Companies of Oklahoma City. The following photo was taken at an event produced around the league playoffs for Oklahoma City’s pro basketball team, The Thunder.

One of the team’s major sponsors produced these barricade graphics that were used in connection with pre-game festivities surrounding the playoffs…definitely not traditional trade show.

In this second example, our customer utilized SEG finished graphics with Optima’s Nouveau hardware.

This hangs in the corporate headquarters lobby of Edward Jones Co. and was designed by Engraphix of St. Louis, MO. What’s interesting about this project is we utilized a hardware system commonly used for trade shows in an architectural environment.

These last two photos are from Baconfest in Kansas City, MO…yes, Baconfest is a real annual event.

Cannonball Agency designed, and Optima produced, these unique graphic displays for their client Farmland that were used at their bacon eating contest…note: this is not a trade show.

These are just a few examples but you get the idea…your world is bigger and you’re not just a trade show company. So keep bringing us new challenges and we’ll continue to work with you – creating solutions that will help you build and grow your businesses for many years to come.
