You CAN Learn Something New Everyday

AuthorThere are times I didn’t believe I was good at something or I just didn’t do it often enough to feel confident going for it. I’ve recently adopted a new perspective on life: you can teach an old dog new tricks. Lately, I have been trying new things in my personal life and it’s been very rewarding! I had always wanted to take a drawing class and last winter I signed up and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

While learning new things and working through changes in my personal life, it occurred to me that this isn’t anything new. I have been through a whole lot of change and met challenges head on. It’s about time I took control and decided myself what my next trick will be.

This year marks my celebrating 20 years of service at Optima. I know – I can’t believe it either. Over those 20 years, I have said or heard many people say, “I learn something new every day in this business,” and it’s true. With our ever-changing, evolving industry, we get to be re-energized by the onslaught of new innovations, technologies and ever increasing product options. Creativity surrounds us and ideas are popping up all over the place.

Just about the time we think we have everything figured out, something new comes along to challenge us! 20 years at this and I can still be heard to say “I didn’t know that. Wow! Something new all the time.” AuthorIt’s a great experience and much better than doing the same old thing day after day.

Fact is, I know I can take on new things for myself since I have been doing it at Optima for a long time! My new philosophy is now part of my daily life and I recommend everyone adopt it. Get out there and do what you always wanted to do now and don’t look back. Whether it’s taking an art class, running a marathon or doing whatever brings you joy.

I have always liked to draw and doodle and after taking that sketching class, my meager talents have advanced to the level that I feel comfortable showing my work to close friends and family who wont judge me too harshly! ☺ Most of all, it makes me happy. My next adventure is a pottery class and I can’t wait to start throwing pots and showing that wheel what I can do!

What have you learned about life and our industry lately?
I would love to hear about it.

Great article regarding Robin who I think is one of the most caring person that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with on different project, and covers 55 years of corporate America, 30 years at Sears, and 25 years of owning my own company,25 years of .doing business with Optima and Robin and my CS rep. Jason Rak & Bob Moser, I could go on and on, the total staff goes above and beyond taking care of their clients.
