Feel This

AuthorWithout fabric we would truly be naked and afraid. The earliest forms consisted of animal skins draped across the body for warmth. Weaving of fabric dates back to 8000 B.C and woven wool rugs have been found near Turkey from around 6500 BC. Lastly, China is credited with opening trade routes with their production of silk around 2800 B.C.

History aside, the fact remains – we have come a long way with fabric. It is part of everyday life affecting many industries. In the tradeshow industry, fabric is a mainstay and the primary component in the creation of exhibits and displays. Not just the fabric itself but the need for colorful, true to life, attention-getting graphics is in demand.

We go to market as the dye sublimation experts. In fact, we have over 20 different dye sublimated fabrics. Each fabric has its own unique property, feel and texture. It is amazing how personal fabrics have become and how many go through the touchy feely test. It is commonplace to stop and feel a material on a banner stand or display.

What I would like to bring to your attention is the introduction of two new fabrics from Optima. They are known as “Façade Plus” and “Ole”. Fa Saud + is a second generation fabric. Like its predecessor, it is a three-layer opaque material. The main attribute of this material is its white point. Therefore, if you happen to have a lot of “white” space on your exhibit, we have just the solution. Additionally, the white point provides eye-popping color saturation.

Secondly, backlit fabric continues to gain interest from our customers. Therefore, we are proud to present Oh – Lay. What is quite obvious is the crystal clear detail, deep dark blacks and super saturated bright colors. It is truly vivid. These properties provide the perfect solution for any SEG light box.

So, from 6500 B.C. to modern day sublimation, fabric is awesome. Optima will continue to apply our trade to the latest fabrics woven. Please contact us to discuss how Façade Plus and Ole’ will work in your next display solution. Additionally, we can provide samples for that touch and feel test. Ole!
