What’s Our Plan B?


AuthorWhen you have the good fortune of working in this unique arena we call “The Trade Show Industry,” you develop this particular skill that is absolutely essential for your survival. It’s an innate ability to direct your energy toward solving a problem. Unforeseen issues continually come up and you just keep moving forward. There is no fail – let’s just figure out what our options are and keep moving forward.

For example: You’re at an event with your client and you just realized the copy on their mural panels is incorrect and you need new ones produced – immediately! Your customer is freaking out and is sure they are doomed. You, on the other hand, are calm in the face of this perceived disaster. This is what separates the exhibit pros from the wannabes. The pros have trusted resources they can draw upon which keep their crazy world turning and without them…well, let’s just say that things could get pretty ugly. Sound familiar?

AuthorAlthough it’s certainly true that lives don’t hang in the balance with every decision, it can certainly feel that way sometimes. Now this may sound corny but that doesn’t mean it’s not true: At Optima, we just “Get It!” You don’t stick around in this business for more than 25 years if you don’t and our customers (Real Exhibit Pros) just “Get It” as well. They know at Optima, we operate production 24 hours a day. They also know sometimes the laws of physics come into play and our clock runs at the same speed as everyone else. But, we do have this way of coming up with options that can keep your client’s heads from exploding. So, if plan A isn’t possible, we most likely have a plan B. Oh, and did I mention… we never add rush charges – ever!

I have had many different customers tell me that Optima has pulled off miracles for them and that’s why they keep coming back (though I would like to think it’s more about the charm and wit of their cool sales guy). I get it… and I really don’t mind being one of those several people they feel they can count on at Optima when it’s time to figure out What’s Our Plan B?
