So, What’s New?

AuthorI get this question quite often when I meet with my customers and I’m pretty sure the reason is we all live in a world where the only constant is change and if we don’t stay current we’ll be left in the dust.

So fortunately, most of my customers have come to rely on me as a resource toward that end and one thing I’m hearing quite a bit is: “It seems like customers are expecting so much more from their investment in their trade show and event displays.” Well, here are a few ideas that may help you differentiate yourself from the competition.

So, What’s New?

Full Visual Displays:
Let’s face it, the industrial look of exposed structure is a bit last millennium. A popular trend now (that continues to grow) is to create faux environments on the show floor. This desire has really pushed innovation in the world of custom modular extrusion hardware. I remember when Optima first brought Panoramic to the US market, we had quite a few customers who had invested heavily in other systems that weren’t as well suited to creating this look. Now, you can see some of those manufacturers catching up and Panoramic has evolved as well. Panoramic Quick Release Hardware significantly speeds up I&D and the Pano Lighbox Extrusion allows for seamless graphic illumination on a grand format scale. Add to that a fully printed carpet and you’ve really raised the bar.

Technology:
AuthorYou can still put out a fishbowl and collect business cards but is that really the image you want to project at your event? Custom interactive displays, tablet integration, badge scanning and post show metrics are now considered even before booth design begins. It’s key to have these options at the ready in this need-it-now world.

Digital Print:
“I’m sorry…what’s new about this? Large and grand format printing are not new.” Well, believe it or not, the world of digital printing is not exactly static. In fact, Optima has invested millions to maintain leadership in our industry and thereby gives our customers a competitive edge with:

Multiple Print Processes including UV Direct to Substrate, Dye Sublimation on Fabric, Solvent Inkjet Printing for outdoor applications and have you seen Lambda lately? Our new grand format Colossus dye-sub for 2015. Then there’s also our G7 Accredited print practices and Color Management Process Control that is calibrated across all our printing platforms as proof of our commitment to be second-to-none in our industry.

Now, I actually have a lot more to share with you on these points but I need to save some of that for the next time we meet…so when you ask me, “What’s new?” I’ll still have quite a bit to say.
