Paying it Forward

AuthorIt is the start of February, the weather is weatherly, and pre-show planning is in the air for Exhibitor 2015. I was looking at some of the final visuals for our island exhibit and VIP reception and as usual, I was very happy with what our creative team put in front of me, but I reflected on the genesis of our exhibit.

In September of 2014, I flew to Bemidji, MN to collaborate with the faculty and students at Bemidji State University. This was the fourth time I have made the trek to lecture, spend a day plus with the students, and launch our annual Exhibitor design contest.  The students had an opportunity to devise a pre-show contact strategy/mailer, our 20 x 20 exhibit, and graphics for our reception. I am proud to say that the winner is Mariah Gregory who is a Jr. at BSU.

I am excited for her and I hope she follows in the foot prints of the previous winners – note three of the four previous winners are employed within the industry utilizing their design chops and making a difference in our industry. That brings me a great sense of satisfaction and I am glad that I have gotten to know all the winners since the first design contest.

On 3.2.15 you will all have a chance to meet Mariah and see what we have done with her inspiration and vision for Optima. As many of you know we have launched a new version of our Grand format Colossus dye-sub print and we will be highlighting it at the show. Our Color Management and R&D folks have had a busy year since last Exhibitor – we launched Super Select over the summer, received multiple G7 level Certifications, UL Certification, implemented additional proprietary software / systems and the latest break through, Colossus Grand Format dye-sub. Same name, but not the same print!

So get Registered with a VIP Guest Pass for Exhibitor 2015 and a chance to see the latest Optima Exhibitor Design Contest winning exhibit, meet the winner (she is looking for an summer internship as an FYI), and see our “New and Improved” Colossus Grand Format dye-sub printing. Sorry – I could not resist the “New and Improved”. Stupid one liner aside – grand format just got better and if you can’t wait until March, reach out to us now and we can arrange a viewing or send a sample.

Have a great weekend and happy selling.
