Must Be Lucky

Last week, Optima™ attended and exhibited at EDPA Access in Marco Island, FL. I know…you’re all probably saying “must be lucky”, and yes, I believe I am; however, even though this is a beautiful setting with warm weather, it’s also a lot of work – with long days and nights and limited leisure time. Let me tell you why it’s all worth it . . .

I flew in Tuesday and immediately started setting up our booth with the help of Kevin Kirbey, Dave Brown and François from Duo, and what a booth it was! The EDPA doesn’t have a ‘best in show’ booth award at this conference but if it did (and I think it should moving forward) we definitely would have won. Why? Take a look at the photos below to see… With the combination of our Panoramic® LightBooth and our inTouch™ Interactive Technology, we stole the show and created quite a buzz!!!

Throughout the next couple of days there were several excellent speakers with topics ranging from sales, finding and working with new textures and materials, going outside of the traditional trade show space, panel discussions about that awful word “DRAYAGE”, and much more!!! Very interesting stuff and exactly what I needed to kick start 2014!!! And let’s not forget breaking bread and having a couple of cocktails with our friends and colleagues in the industry, followed by some good laughs – it really was great!

At the end of the conference I walked away with new energy, ready to sell more than ever!!! I also gained greater insight into the relationship between contractors, show management, the exhibit house, and the exhibitor. In addition, I learned of new materials we may be able to offer our customers. Flying home Saturday, I thought to myself, and now to you . . . why aren’t more exhibit designers and producers part of this great organization??? Do tell . . .

Great wrap-up. And great seeing You, Dave, Kevin and Francois as always.
I like you often leave energized but questioning the “missing” counts of others that “should” be at EDPA.
EDPA provides a unique setting for competitors and partners alike to join together to learn and move our great industry into great new places.
This coming year, membership will grow like it never has before. As a proud member of the Board of Directors for EDPA, we as a group are committed to spreading the news.
And your help thru articles like this are greatly appreciated.
