The state or character of being positive”
I was not sure it was even a real word much less that there are entire websites dedicated to the state of being positive. So there is no hiding the theme of what I would like to discuss. I hope you read on…
Looking forward to 2012 it can be difficult to get the engine running again to take on the challenges in front of me, you and your co-workers. However, it is important to focus on what you want and how you will achieve these wants. Just crossing your fingers and looking toward the sky in prayer typically does not work. However, in practicing face to face marketing and sales for a number of years there are a couple of things I do that keep me on track and on target:
  • Write out your goals for the year (work and personal)
  • Post these written goals up at your desk, car, garage, bathroom etc.
  • Read these goals out loud daily.
  • Visualize your intended outcome of any interaction prior to it occurring.
  • Plan your work and work your plan.

Now, I do not propose do be a self help guru in any way. However, I do my best to be positive everyday and look at the small successes that eventually lead to big successes. Secondly, be persistent and consistent in achieving your goals and when in doubt pick up the phone and call. We work in a crazy industry and the ability to breath and refocus can be very helpful. In conclusion, keep asking for those appointments, target the big fish, and most importantly remain positive. You will be surprised at what you can achieve.
Do you set goals or just have dreams? What techniques do you use to overcome obstacles? To achieve your goals? What can we do better to support you in achieving your business goals?
